What Is Sales Tax Registration ?
The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) IRIS portal has revolutionized the way registered taxpayers in Pakistan manage their tax obligations. Offering a convenient and efficient platform for electronic filing, IRIS simplifies the process of submitting Sales Tax and Federal Excise Returns.
Every registered person under the Sales Tax Act, 1990, is obligated to file Sales Tax returns. This includes businesses and individuals involved in the supply of taxable goods or services. The frequency of filing depends on nature of business. Generally, sales tax returns are filed on monthly basis.
Documents Required for Sales Tax Registration?
- Bank Account Certificate
- Acquisition Date, Capacity and Business Activity
- Particulars of all branches (if any)
- GPS-tagged photographs of machinery and industrial electricity or gas meter installed (Manufacturer only)
- Color copy of CNIC's of Partners
- Biometric Verification
- Authorization of principal Officer
- GPS-tagged photographs of the business premises
- Consumer number with the gas and electricity supplier along with pictures of utilities meter
- Color copy of CNIC's of Partners
- Rent agreement/ownership docs of Office premises
- Latest paid electricity bill
